Voice & AI Services (OpenAI & ElevenLabs)

Tellflow allows you to interact with your AI through voice commands and audio responses. This is powered by OpenAI and ElevenLabs.

How to Set Up Voice Services​

OpenAI (ChatGPT)​

OpenAI's Whisper (Speech-to-Text) and TTS (Text-to-Speech) are supported.

  1. Open the Tellflow mobile app.
  2. Go to Settings (gear icon) > Voice Settings.
  3. Tap on Speech-to-Text (Transcribe).
  4. Enter your OpenAI API Key.
  5. Test the connection by tapping the microphone icon and speaking.

[!NOTE] You only need to enter your API key once. It's stored securely on your device.

ElevenLabs (High-Quality Voice)​

ElevenLabs provides premium-quality voices.

  1. In the Tellflow app, go to Settings > Voice Settings.
  2. Tap on Text-to-Speech (Speaker).
  3. Choose ElevenLabs as your provider (from the dropdown).
  4. Enter your ElevenLabs API Key.
  5. Test the connection by typing a sample text and tapping the play button.

How it Works In Chat​

  • Voice-to-Text: Tap and hold the Microphone icon (next to the input bar) to record your message. Tellflow will transcribe it using OpenAI Whisper and send it to your n8n workflow as text.
  • Text-to-Voice: When your n8n workflow sends back a message, Tellflow will automatically (or via a play button) read it out loud using your chosen provider (OpenAI or ElevenLabs).

Tips for Using AI Voice​

  • Low Latency: Choose OpenAI TTS (hd or speed mode) if you want faster responses.
  • Emotional & Realism: Choose ElevenLabs for more human-sounding, emotional voices.
  • Language Support: Both providers support multiple languages. Ensure your n8n workflow is also set to respond in your preferred language.
